about

Saint Patrick's Day, 2020: The coronavirus outbreak caused the cancellation of our St Patrick’s Day show. We were going to lead off our 2nd set with the traditional Irish folk song “Molly Malone”, but since no one is able to perform anywhere, we decided to record it for everybody instead. So, Ladies & Gentlemen, we present our version of “Molly Malone” for Saint Patrick’s Day. Enjoy!

lyrics

Molly Malone (Lyrics)

In Dublin's fair city
Where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she pushed her wheelbarrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
She was a fishmonger
And sure, t'was no wonder
For so were her mother and father before
And they both wheeled their barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
She died of a fever
And no one could save her
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone
Now her ghost wheels her barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying "cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
